Ravi Naidoo inspires with post-robbery message
Johannesburg - It's been said that good leaders step into a situation to bring calm, neutrality and direction when all about are scrambling . If this is true, Ravi Naidoo, station manager at 947 Highveld, is a good leader.
Mr. Naidoo was attacked at his Bryanstan home last night. His assailants were armed and escaped with a laptop, tablet computer and mobile phone.
Just hours before, Mr. Naidoo had paid tribute to the fight against crime. The irony in his tweet and the incident which transpired thereafter didn't escape media reportage.
This morning, however, Mr. Naidoo took to his Facebook page to reiterate his hope for South Africa.
He wrote: "... this incident has not made me lost hope in this beautiful country and the people that believe in the future of it."
Mr. Naidoo said he was committed to "assisting in the fight against crime."
An email to him this morning, on the motivation to post his message on Facebook, was not immediately answered. Meanwhile, at least one person has applauded Mr. Naidoo's stance on continuing to be committed to solving South Africa's crime problem.
In a post, Lucille Jacobs wrote: "This is the way to handle adversity. Not a victim, taking your power back. Seeing it for it was. Not wallowing in self pity and negativity. Ravi Naidoo u are an example to us all. " [unedited copy]
